Sorry, I should have realised earlier. The bet delay is still one second even if playing at 16 x real time for example It should be 1/16th of a second. I will fix this.

Glad I could help.

I do have a video of the event live as well. I did notice that the result I got live versus using historic data on 1sec refresh was slightly different.

Happy to share if it helps.

Yes that would be helpful. I imagine it's down to slight timing differences, but I'd like to see if there are any glaring differences.

Testing an Excel strategy against a full day's data (40 races).

Noticed the initial balance of £1000 I set updates correctly for a few races when I click on it, then resets to £1000 periodically without me hitting the red stop button.

Do the bets disappear also?

I'm fairly sure they don't.

By the way thanks for the full access to horse racing markets.

You're welcome. I will try and replicate. In the meantime if you spot a way of triggering this issue please let me know.

When the balance resets does it display correctly again after a few refreshes or is it permanently reset from that point?

Yes it does display correctly again it seems to toggle back and forth unpredictably.

Just happened to me now after the third race.

While starting to test this now I've just noticed that despite Betfair recently lowering the minimum stake to £1 we can't place SP bets on BA at £1 (unlike the BF website which I just tested), though we can with non-SP bets.

I haven't made this change yet. I plan to have a look tomorrow. It would be a simple change, but it's complicated by the invalid profit ratio issue at certain penny stakes. That doesn't affect SP bets directly, but it's related.

I'm noticing that when I request a back bet at SP it often doesn't get placed if I'm zooming through at 4x or faster. I first noticed this at 32x.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
