Betfair Unscheduled outage 26-Nov-09

With regards to Betfair's downtime today, they have made the following statement:-

Betfair would like to apologise for the unscheduled downtime we experienced this afternoon. The cause of the problem is currently being investigated by our engineering team.

These markets were affected and the following actions taken;

Horse Racing

14.15 Taunton – All bets after the finish time off 14.20.23 have been void.

14.30 Uttoxeter – All bets after the off 14.30.24 will be void, BSP will be manually reconciled.

14.30 Vaal – All bets after the off 14.30.41 will be void.

14:40 Thurles - All bets after the off 14.41.34 will be void, BSP will be manually reconciled.

14.40 Newbury - All bets after the off 14.41.08 will be void, BSP will be manually reconciled.

14.50 Taunton - All bets after the off 14.50.20 will be void, BSP will be manually reconciled.

15.05 Uttoxeter – Unmatched bets cancelled.

15.05 Vaal – Unmatched bets cancelled.


Greyhound Racing

Crayford:

14:18 (Win & Forecast) – Bets Voided from Off Time – 14:21:34
14:37 (Win & Forecast) – Bets Voided from Off Time – 14:38:00

Sports betting software from Gruss Software


The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
