Both the API and website are not responding right now. I'll post an update when I know more.

It's not here. It's bad news if the website is available for some and not others and the API is down. I'm now getting "service not available" from the API, but the website is just timing out.

Betting Assistant uses the API. It's a different server to the website and it's currently down. We will post an update when we know more.

Betfair have posted the following on their forum.

We are currently experiencing issues with our API service. This will affect customers using Mobile, Casino Download, and Live Video.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and can assure our customers that this is being treated as the top priority and all available resources are working to restore service.

Past experience tells me this may not be the end of today's problems unfortunately. Please tread carefully.

Prices were jumping all over the place about 10 minutes ago. Seems to have settled down now.

If anyone here joined Betfair last week, would you still be here now?

Gary/Mark this is none of my business, but if I had anyone currently trialling my product I would extend the trial till the API was sorted, just so they are in no doubt that the BA is a truly superb piece of software WHEN the Betfair API is working as it should.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
