Betfair system testing 10th Feb 2011

Postby GaryRussell » Thu Feb 10, 2011 3:10 pm

Betfair posted the following on their forum at 12:54pm today. Please proceed with caution as it may have a bigger impact than they suggest.

After the problems with the site last week we are running some tests to make sure we don’t see a repeat of them this weekend.

At 13.00, 17.20 and 17.50 there may be a short interruption to the site but this is part of the planned testing and should last only a matter of a minute or two.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Betfair have further stated:-

Following the disruption to the site at the weekend, we ran a test today at 1.00pm to try to help us understand what the issues were.

We are now not planning any more tests today but we will run some more tomorrow. We will let you know those times as soon as we have confirmed them.

Thanks for your patience.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
