Live scores

Postby Golfman » Mon Jun 30, 2014 6:42 am

Great addition as I am looking at the correct score markets via excel so I will download the Beta.

Any chance of going global on the live scores at some point?

Or are you just trying it out first with UK markets?

Excellent software, been looking for something like this for a while, and unfortunately spent a bit of money trying other software.

I have a dutching question which I will post seperately.

The scores are polled by our server every 10 seconds from xscores.com and then pushed to Betting Assistant when a goal is scored. This means Betting Assistant will not use up additional bandwidth polling for soccer scores and refreshing speed of markets will not be affected.

The score, name of scorer, score period and score time are displayed in the title bar above the grid and ladder interfaces.

There is also an additional column named "Soccer score" which can be exported to Excel. This will export four columns to Excel:-
Soccer score: eg. 0-0
Scorer name
Score Period: eg. 1 for 1st half
Score time: in minutes since kick off

The Live soccer score feed has been removed from the software for now primarily because it was an expensive addition for us and Betfair plan to include live score data in the next gen API which we are currently converting over to.
We didn't feel we could justify renewing our licence to have this data for another year on this basis.

Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
