COM interface: Small stakes possible?

Postby milfor » Sun Jul 27, 2008 3:54 pm

Is it correct that the COM interface only can transmit new bets but can't change stake/odds of earlier bets?

That means that stakes below 2 are only possible via BA but not via COM interface?

Sometimes odds climb so high that I need a stake below 2 to close my trade.

It doesn't have an update bet function, but you can place bets below minimum stake.

Have I overseen something or is the COM interface only able to cancel all bets of a market as a whole? I would need the possibility to cancel all the bets of a single selection but keep the bets on all the other selections.

In Excel the trigger CANCEL-ALL does this job. My second approach was to refresh the quick pick list with -3, go down to the concerned market with repeating of -1 and to trigger CANCEL-ALL there.

Unfortunately this doesn't work either. After -3 no market of the quick pick list is selected and -1 has no effect. After -3 I would have to click on the first market of the quick pick list to make -1 work. Is there any way to use -3 and -1 without manual intervention in between?

The next version will include a cancelBet() function. You can download it from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... a_Test.msi
You will first need to uninstall the current version.

The syntax is as follows.

cancelBet(ref:string): double

The return value is the amount cancelled.

Instead of using -3 and -1 triggers can you not use the goMarket() com function?

I don't find goMarket() in the help section. Do you mean openMarket() ?

I tried it now with openMarket() as you said. It seems to take quite long to open all the markets I'm interested in one after the other and to check if my conditions are met there. It's dangerous to leave the markets unsupervised for such a long time. To monitor more than 1 market at the same time the coupon view seems to be more efficient. So I would need similar to openMarket (displays a new market INSTEAD of the old one) a procedure addMarket (displays a new market IN ADDITION to the old one).

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
