SP Prices via Excel

Postby asmith1999 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 11:41 pm

Gary et al,

Apologies if I have asked this question previously....

Am I right in saying that it is not possible currently to display the current SP price via the triggered betting excel spreadsheet?

I presume that there are many systemites using the software that have based their systems on many attributes including SP. In that case how do people using the Excel triggered betting use SP? Do they use the BF price and factor it down to SP?

My betting is based heavily on the SP just before the off and I am keen to be able to utilise it.

I recently had a program written which writes the SP of the races just before and just after 'current time' to an Excel spreadsheet but it suffers badly from memory leak.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Bet Regards,
Alan.

I currently use a web query to Hills mobile betting site to pick up the latest show. Its crude, and doesn't auto update or anything like that, but it does the job that I want it for. There is/was a product from another API vendor which linked the prices from Ladbrokes to Betfair prices but I don't think it puts them in Excel.

Is it the Betfair SP you want in Excel?

Can you post a link to the page that you use for this?

http://mobile.willhill.com/WHMobile/app ... ileDesktop

This gives you the start menu and then you can drill down to a particular race and import the whole page. Pretty easy then to extract the name and odds although sometimes the names are truncated on the Hills site.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies.

Gary,

I guess the Betfair SP would be a compromise.

Alan.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
