Betfair csv files

Postby vanbuuts » Tue Mar 20, 2018 12:28 pm

Seems like Betfair have pulled the plug on there promo site that used to provide handy daily csv files.

Hopefully juts a temporary glitch, but seems like these are now being made available at £99 per month in a .tar format download only in monthly batches/

Yep it's annoying, I collected them daily using a bot to dump them into a mysql database but it's been flaky for a while now. Looks like they've finally pulled the plug. Bit annoying as I'd been collecting them for years but to be honest don't think I've ever gathered anything too interesting from them so might be a blessing in disguise.

I'll have to look at the free stuff they're currently providing see it that replaces the current BSP files. I doubt I'd need the £99 option but I suppose if it is does win you money £25 a week isn't that much to pay.

Just ran my code again and it's retreived today's files and my missing ones from earlier in the week.

Seems the site is back up again so might just be erratic rather than taken down as it's used for the BSP data rather than the all the price data the other data files hold.

HI CS, yes noted they had returned mid-afternoon. Very strange.

A great source of data - hopefully it continues

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
