Fetching Markets Delay

Postby Betscrew » Fri Nov 09, 2018 1:00 pm

Hi,
How long should it take to fetch markets?
Also, is this quicker if the list of favourites is reduced?
I am on the latest build (38y19) with about 1/2 the sports selected and it takes nearly 2 minutes!

Thanks,

Hi,

Ok, so I just tested this on my computer.
I'm based in the UK using Virgin Broadband (wired connection)

All sports selected, from clicking on the Log In button it took 1 min 21 seconds.

I then changed it to just horse racing and greyhound racing and it took only 10 seconds.

The biggest sport is soccer, so including that with horse racing and greyhound racing it took mine 1 min 12

So you can see that Soccer is by far the biggest sport to load.

Gary is trying to find a more efficient way of loading the data, it is just the sheer volume that slows it down.

Regards,
Mark

Hi.
Thank you kindly for such a swift reply.
I have now un-checked everything bar horses and it took 12 seconds.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
