BDP TLS change

Postby HiArt99 » Fri Feb 01, 2019 11:43 am

Hi,

will Gruss handle the TLS change announced by Betfair for 7th February? As I am using v1.3.0.38y15, I am particularly interested in this side of things. In other words, should I expect an update?

Regards

Arthur

Hi,

So to meet the new TLS requirements we need to use the latest .Net Framework.

That was introduced in version 1.3.0.38y12

So any version later than that will work.

We will change the official version on our downloads page so that our official version meets the new requirement.

Also we plan to make older versions auto-update.

Regards,
Mark

That's typical but we still want people to update to the new version.

But if you really want to stay on version 1.3.0.37a for the time being then you can do by doing the following:-

Install via the following link:-

http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting_Assistant/Betting_Assistant_1_3_0_37a.msi

But once installed you cannot open it from the desktop shortcut otherwise it will try to update.
Instead you need to bypass the update process by going to the Program Files directory on your pc and run the file "Betting Assistant.exe"
You can create a new shortcut from your desktop to this file.
You will then remain on version 1.3.0.37a

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
