I live in australia and it is impossible to trade with betting assistant on the uk racing because of latency, however i can with the speed i get with BetAngel so it seems it is possible. Betangel has different connection modes on the default option which is 0 it is slow ( 1.2 sec) but with option 1 it is about .6 seconds so it seems it is possible. It might be worth looking into gary.

Get Point! my BA also slow, but betAngel is fast,I got the reason yesterday because the BetAngel has several server nodes, can selecte a faster node before you load, maybe,it's the best method.

I think you are referring to Betangel's non API mode, I am pretty sure it's not a case of the program being able to access the API quicker than Betting Assistant. I will be including a non API mode in Betting Assistant in the future.

Hi,
Just a follow on general question in regard to the Hops and the amount between the user and BF.
I did a pathping www.betfair.com and recieved a list of 11 (count em) hops, "computing statistics over 275 seconds" and no further info like has been set out above.
I did a check on where the hops were and found one to be in America!
I am with Virgin Media on a 24meg broadband connection.(providing providings)

The long and short is that Im not amused and was wondering if I can get the ISP to do anything about this, if not is it simply a case of moving ISP and if so, how can you find out how good each is before purchase?
TIA

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
