Market Replay wrong requested Odds excel betting

Postby iceman » Sat Jun 07, 2025 9:52 am

Good morning everyone.
I am having problems with Market Replay.
I log horse races in excel, starting from cell A1 and at certain conditions I place bets at F column odds values or H column odds values, but the bets are fired at completly different prices. For example I place a BACK bet at at 3.20 but it is matched at 2.47 which is an unusual price considering that the market has not moved. I don't know how to get around this issue :|

I cannot replicate this issue. Could you possibly provide a screen recording of this happening? Because they always replay the same I should be able to replicate it if I can see an example.

Also an odd value like that could be a result of a non runner being removed and the reduction factor being applied. Have you checked for this?

Sorry I don't get the same result. I really need to see a screen recording of the Betting Assistant screen as the bet is placed.

I requested access to the file on Google drive so I presume you need to grant access. I will look out for an email confirmation.

Also in the meantime. The diagnostic log might be useful. Can you select Open settings folder from the Options menu and send the file named BA_Diagnostic-2025-06-07.log to admin@gruss-software.co.uk. It is in the folder named Diagnostic Logs

After looking at the video I would really like to see the diagnostic log as this is puzzling so far.

The video was very useful thank you. I can see there is a partial match at odds 2.47 which is exactly what the odds would be if the reduction factor was applied from the runner that was already removed. It cannot be a coincidence. It must be applying it in error. I'll get back to you as soon as I can replicate this. It may take a while.

It's a timezone bug. If you set your PC to London timezone then you should see it works ok. You should not need to do this though. I will try and release a fix by tomorrow morning.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
