Beta 1 Stop Loss / Sliding function

Postby chaser » Sun Apr 22, 2007 11:58 am

Hello Gary
Excellent upgrade, many thanks.
Not sure the tick offset and Sliding Stop Loss works as I thought it would - As an example :-

If I place a Back bet at say 3.60 and have set the tick offset at 3 and a Stop Loss at 6 with the sliding box ticked, I would expect the following :-

The stop loss is there should the price move against me, and if it goes out to 3.9 the stop will be fired and hopefully matched at 3.95
If the price moves 1 tick in my favour i.e. to 3.55 , I thought the sliding stop would also move 1 tick i.e. from 3.90 to 3.85, following the price as it shortens so the stop increment of 6 ticks is maintained down to my Lay bet being triggered at 3.45 (my pre-set 3 tick offset), at which point to stop would be cancelled.

From trying it out this morning, It doesn't seem to work this way, am I mistaken ?

That's how it should work, did you have 'Sliding' ticked?

Oops, it goes down to 3.6, so I've made a mistake there, I will fix it as soon as possible.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
