What is a good mobile phone to monitor betfair

Postby bolpx001 » Mon May 07, 2007 2:56 am

I have automated BA to bet for me when certain conditions are met while I am in work but I want to be able to monitor how things are going with my Betfair account while I am enslaved. Betfair do a Java program which runs on mobiles and as I am thinking of changing my phone anyway I was wondering if anybody had any advice. My budget is as little as possible up to about 100 pounds

In my albeit limited experience, Betfair's mobile java program can often be a little troublesome to set up and only works on certain mobile phones.

I've had a much better luck with Betfair lite which is a cut down version of the main Betfair site, but specially designed for mobile phone web browsers to access.

As nearly all modern mobile phones can access the Internet via GPRS etc, it's a simple case of pointing your mobile's web browser in the direction of http://lite.betfair.com/

Thanks filo
I tried the internet option some time ago and found it fiddley and time consuming to to use. I really need someting fast and easy to use. I suspect a better phone will sort my problems out but I don't know what will work well. - Paul

You could always visit the Betfair mobile section of the Betfair forums and see which phones other users are having most success with?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
