Upgrades for the non api betfair trader application

Postby Alexandru » Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:40 am

Hi Gary,

I noticed you made some upgrades for the Betfair Trader application (non api), but you don't go into details in your Upgrades column.

I have been waiting for months for the level up function and it does not work so far. Can you write the approximate date when we will be able to use it?

Thank you.

I am sorry to keep you waiting for the level profit update. The latest upgrade was just to add an alternative lay stake button like the alternative back stake button. I will also be adding this feature to the API version. I had promised this update even before your request for the level profit button. I shall try to update it in the next two weeks, but cannot promise. I can promise that if it hasn't been done before 22nd June it will be done very shortly after that because I finish the day job and will be able to catch up with everyone's requests. I can reveal that I intend to add a non api mode to Betting Assistant so you will have the choice of api or non api access within the same application, this should provide the best of both worlds.

I did not announce this upgrade because I am trying not to publicise the non api version as I would prefer to maintain one application in the future.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
