I was using the backing in running spreadsheet on Sunday and had a rather unexpected result in a race with a photgraph finish. The spreadsheet somehow managed to back every horse that was not involved in photo at 1000/1. Not what I expected, but it was nice to see that all but 2 horses winning would have given me a profit of nearly £5000. Wished they had disqualified the 2 in the photo!!!!!!

Looking forwar to downloading the unprotected sheet and looking how it works. I eventually did my own, it took hours but was good fun.

Cheers

Hi gravitywgy,

Are you sure its not working ? only sheet 2 is protected this is to stop people from deleting the formulas sheet 1 should allow BA to import the data.

Sorry about the Photo-finish its a known issue with the spreadsheet the reason is because the market suspends then goes back into play for the photo-finish. I am looking to remove this bug asap

Hi eyesnack

One way I use to avoid this problem is to include H5>0,J5>0,L5>0 in my trigger formula, so that a bet will not be made unless there are
odds available in the Lay boxes H5,J5&L5

Eyesnack

If I change the formula in the trigger column in the your selections sheet to =IF($W$1=5,I3,"Wait") , will that trigger the bet to back before when not in play so I could set up BA to load the market say 5 mins before the off on each race and the spreadsheet trigger in the bet. I'll just make the odds = the current odds from betfair in the data in sheet.[/u]

Has this bug been fixed in the spreadsheet when it is a photo finish?

Hi eyesnack

Just tried to download ExeBet. Is it available?

What I am trying to do is create a process to

. compare the market against a list of pre loaded guide prices
. for qualifying horse(s) bet just before the off
. place a 2nd bet to offset the first in running

I thought it would be useful to have a look at Exebet as it looks like it may do the back/lay part.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
