Excel Trigger betting SHOCK !!

Postby Castillo » Fri Aug 24, 2007 6:04 pm

Hi All

I came home from work today to find a slight problem with my trading spreadsheet.
I bet the greyhounds and today the trading spreadsheet was working fine, in fact 28 races had passed and I was showing a profit.
THEN in the race at Swindon | 24/08/2007 | 16:08 | Grade A3 | 480m it layed one selection at the correct stake but on another it layed it at approx 55x more stake than it should have at odds of 8.2 , and guess what the selection WON. My stake is worked out from my current balance, I can only assume the balance some how displayed incorrectly. I have been chasing to recover my considerable loss with a beer or two, and thankfully I have just managed to achieve that..PHEW!!! :D
Luckily I have a trigger to stop betting after my current bank reaches 90% of my starting bank for the day, and that kicked in suspending further bets. I have now added some extra security triggers to stop a similar occurrence. If anyone was betting via excel during that particular race and noticed something not quite right, please let me know, as I'm completely baffled!!

All reset and seems to be working fine now.

Cheers

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
