Can I place stop order instead of usual limit order ?

Postby parisd » Thu Jan 26, 2006 7:20 pm

If I lay at 40.0 directly with betfair I will get filled at 40.0 or anything lower. Same with backing, if I ask for 2.0 I will be filled at 2.0 or anything above.

Now if I want to place an order in advance to back at 2.0 but want to back only at 2.0 OR below, does your software allow this?

Same question for Laying, does your software allow to lay at 10 or above?

If not any software does this ?

Thks

No, the way bets are placed are exactly the same as if you had placed them on the site.

To do what you want to do you would have to use a trigger e.g. If Price <= 2.0 then .......

I think Mike is referring to the Excel part of BA - the trigger is an excel formula that you make up.
previously known as Gaseous (on the betfair forum)

Thanks,

So betfair assistant (BA) offer the triggering facility that I am looking for,i t was not mentionned on the BA home page but after searching in the forum threads it is obvious.

Why not mentionned in the BA homepage, triggering is a huge added value to the BA, no?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
