New betfair release

Postby Kinyo » Mon Feb 27, 2006 12:27 pm

Hi,

Presumably Betfair have changed all the HTML code, and the software now doesnt pick up runners
or price data.

I thought I would just post this, to warn people - and give Gary a round of thanks for all his work.

I feared this would happen one day. Leave it with me.

Version 0.99 ready. Just re-open the program and it should update. People were saying that it was failing to work completely, but I could find only find minor changes that affected retrieving the balance and some of the market information. The prices were still showing and I could still place bets. I would be grateful for confirmation that it is working.

There is a problem with tomorrows cards. Only one horse loads in the 220 and 250 Leic. Probably to do with the new jockey colors.

They've changed the coding for the UK races to include the colours so looks like the prog will need recoding to strip out that data for the UK and possibly Irish racing

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
