Can I back then lay the same horse using Excel trigger

Postby tamrood2000 » Sun Feb 03, 2008 4:36 pm

Hi

New to the application but not to excel.

I have set a macro (using worksheet_calculcate event) to set the trigger to Back -IP , that works OK - bet is matched at the odds and stake I request.

I am then putting CLEAR in trigger cell of same horse, adjusting odds and Stake and then using a macro to set Trigger to Lay -IP ( to green up) but nothing happens.

Is it possible to do this or can you only bet once on a horse per race?

As long as the et reference field is empty you should be able tp lace another bet whether it's a back or lay. Only thing that may be playing up is if the market is currently in play the trigger part IP may result in the bet being rejected for invalid bet persistance.

Were the bets not being placed in play or before the off ?

Hi

The market hadn't gone In Play ( The macro checks this and will send LAY instead if it is).

I see that some people were reporting slow running yesterday so perhaps that was what was causing the issue.

Written a macro to clear Bet ref field.

Will try again today - lets see how it goes.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you - that sorted out the problem.

Spreadsheet is now working great.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
