Hi Gary, a question please

Postby one cool dog » Tue Feb 28, 2006 9:05 pm

Hi Gary, and thanks for all your efforts.

I have recently installed your Betfair refresh button which has been brilliant. I am an in-running layer who has access to SIS feeds. My speciality is laying horses who appear to be going backwards after holding a prominent position for a long time. I have had the odd bad hit but, on the whole, Im doing well.

I was interested to know about any laying buttons you provide - I think. Is there any working previews of this in action and what do I need to download to get this. I have Betfair enable instant betting as well already but am not sure how it works. When I click on it it ask for my stake and I input an amount. Then, I have no idea what goes on or how to use it.

Could you steer me in the right direction - piece of software and guide on how it works.

Thank you for all the time you take to help people.

regards

Hi there

I downloaded version .99a last night and have it on desktop now. I think I am grasping it but need to make sure I know what I am doing. Just to clarify again, I am in-running layer who depends on my racereading skills knowledge.

I have the page in front of me for the 13.50 at Southwell today.

Now, I guess if I am going to bet in-running and do not know who I will lay until the race gets going, I need to set my stake I want to lay during the race where it says stake - So if I usually lay any horse in the race for £10 and don't mind any liability, i place that stake in the box? YES/NO

Lay odds 1.01 back odds 1000 I presume I do not need to know and I also presume they are deactivated unless I click the Lay field Back field buttons? YES/NO

If I untick Verify bets button will that mean that what ever lay price I click on, the bet will go through and stop any processing time? YES/NO

If I tick the Verify bets button, will that box always appear - have tested with insuffient funds? YES/NO

Can I click on any of the 'pink' lay boxs to lay price? YES/NO

What please is WOM?

What do the arrows on the grey box do - tested that and prices disappear apart from the middle box?

Under B Stake and L Stake, why is mine all filled in with 2?

Is this all I need to know as I want to keep it completely simplistic for me.

Feel free anyone to pitch in and give me their answers. All help is very welcome.

Thank you

ps If I have not explained it clearly enough, please let me know and I will explain it again.

If No, is it only the most central box?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
