My speciality:another dumb question-this time to the traders

Fixador = positional backer - ok....

So , this is a semi trading type question - something of which i know nothing about :?

If before the OFF, i Lay a runner at 4.0, and then , in-play , its odds drop well below evens - ie , it looks its going to win :x I would be better off to reduce my loses if i backed it ???

Be gentle with me ...... trading is a strange idea .... at the moment

Basically no, just leave it. Just do one or the other i.e. trade or take a position don't mix and match. I assume you wouldn't close it if it hit 50 (enough of these turn around and go on to win). Plus you won't find too many traders who use in running to close their trades as the odds on the screen will probably be a true reflection of the odds of winning in general but you'll just end up prey to the in running brigade which means your losing bets will be taken leaving you red on markets you would have won and any winning bets probably too far off the market price when they hit the screen and left untaken.

Nothing wrong with switching positions based on whats happening in the markets but in running isn't the place to try and recover a bad position.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
