COM Interface

Postby Toma » Wed Jul 16, 2008 3:38 pm

Guys,

I am wanting to migrate my automated betting strategies from Excel to use the COM interface. To be honest I have no idea where/how to start!

Does anyone have any examples of using the COM interface on Betting Assistant as I think this would be a great help for me?

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers

Hi,

Have you read the section in the help file?

Also there are a couple of sample spreadsheets that you can download to help get you started.

Regards,
Mark

Cheers for the reply Mark.

I have read the help files and understand how you can obtain information via Visual Basic in Excel for example. However, (maybe I have the wrong end of the stick here!) I was under the impression that you could use the COM interface to communicate with something like C++ or JAVA ?

My plan was to reproduce my excel spreadsheets in a programming language (which will give me much more functionality etc.) am I in the correct area or is this just fiction?

I look forward to your response and thanks again for your assistance!

You are correct. You can find a C# example here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/BA_COM_Test_C.zip

I don't have any C++ or Java examples, but the principle should be the same. Do you have a specific language in mind?

I know it is an old topic, but the link is broken. Could you please re-upload it. I am looking to interface COM with C++, so C# example would help!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
