Inconsistent API

Postby Ed123 » Mon Apr 27, 2015 1:14 pm

Anyone else noticed over recent months (since the API change maybe) that the crispness of bet placement and every transaction made is just a little less reliable?

I get the feel that bets take longer to be placed (judging from the transaction log speeds returned), the latency on the connection is inconsistent and general reliability is just not there.

I've had my line checked but they say that is fine, and if you ping google there isn't a problem there or any inconsistency with latency.

I cant help but feel the new API or the connection to it, is just not as good/reliable as the old days.

Grateful for anyone else's observations.

In general you are right. The new apiNG is very unstable. Especially the last 10 days I believe.

It might be quick though until a patch or a new version will come out. I guess all we can do right now is to wait.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
