Problems fetching markets

Postby crocogotter » Wed Jul 13, 2016 7:39 am

I had problems yesterday with not all greyhound races loading, which I eventually managed to resolve by eliminating all other markets from the "Favourites" bit and refreshing, but it's the same problem again today and even that isn't helping.

It's sometimes taking 2 or 3 or 4 attempts to fetch the markets, and the list is still incomplete. This is before I even link to a spreadsheet.

I've not knowingly changed any settings from how they've always been, but there's obviously a problem somewhere.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

It sounds like you've already done as much as you can to restrict the amount of data being fetched from the Betfair server.
There are no other settings that you need to adjust in the software.
It does sound like some sort of connection issue between your PC and the Betfair server because if the market data is not being fetched then the data call must be timing out.
In this situation I would recommend rebooting everything, i.e. computer, modem / router.
See if that helps at all.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
