BA Load Times

Postby Deestar » Fri Sep 14, 2018 8:42 am

Hi all

Is it just me, or has the start up time and the loading of markets via the excel log multiple, increased significantly with the new version (38y18).
I'm on a VPS so no change in any of my internet/CPU speeds.

Thanks in advance...

Hi,

From version y15 onward the load time for the market tree will take slightly longer.

Wrong start times for some soccer markets were being picked up from the listEvents API call and so listMarketCatalogue is now being used instead.
The market tree loading time has increased when including soccer, but this was necessary to try to ensure correct times.

You can decrease the market tree loading time by excluding sports that you don't bet on.
Above the market tree you will see a star icon which you can click on to set your favoured sports.
Untick the "All Sports" box at the bottom then untick all sports in the list that you don't bet on.
Then next time the market tree is loaded it will only contain the sports that you are interested in.

Regards,
Mark

the figures I posted (was 2secs, now is 10secs loading time)
is until the username/pass fields appear, no profile selected yet so no markets loaded at this point yet
I will make a clean install and post later new loading times

No change in loading times with the clean install
the v. 38y18 takes 13secs while
the v. 38y11 takes 6secs (in a similar pc)

both till the point you can enter the password

That's the experience I have , alrodopial , takes forever for the password to become visible. I run BA overnight on the AUS stuff and by morning my PC has basically ground to a halt for any windows etc so I always have to restart it these days. SSD drives so everything boots quick then just have to wait for BA :( Do you have copies of older versions still?

Garry will fix this quickly or tell us how to disable it
Probably this is the problem:

70MB file for the aus races of last night
usually 200-250 MB for a days races for UK/IRE
under profiles/"name of profile"/streamlog
this streamlog does not exists at v. 38y11 (where I don't have the problem)

I keep the post here and don't place it under bugs section

How do we disable this logging?

I'll check for past BA files and post here whatever I find

I have this as the v. 38y11 but I don't know what version will install as it is the installer file (3.5MB) and not the whole programme
https://ufile.io/20cdn

I deleted my files in downloads folder when I found that the 7GB of free space that I usually had had gone
these stream logs take MUCH space!
Take a look at your profiles folder Captain and tell us

I deleted the Diagnostic Logs folder before logging in and it did seem to startup quicker, maybe it's loading data from there before it starts.

Not sure why we need the program doing so many logs in the background as few people will ever need to look in there, maybe an option to turn all logging on and off might be a good idea so it's available when any debugging is needed but not on all the time especially with streaming gathering so much data. Or at the very least an option to delete the log files from within the program.

It'd also be good if we can have a button to save ay profile changes as they're done rather than now having to logout before it saves, I'm generally just having to reboot my whole system in the morning as it's unresponsive and usually forget to logout properly.

I have removed the log files for now and reverted back to the previous login form. Please let me know if it improves the load time.

Speeds up loading time dramatically, thanks. Have to see later if it slows my system down overnight still.

Log in is faster, but still takes an age to load markets including loading multiple excel links.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
