A bet placed in Excel is partially matched,
how often does ba asks bf if the bet is further matched? Every update?

If you're streaming it'll push the data to BA same as it does with price data. If polling it should check bet data on each refresh

so with streaming on and bet reff in excel column T you will get the result as quick as possible.

Regarding placing a bet using excel vs placing a bet using COM
excel placing is better if
you want quick and continuous update of your bet but it doesn't allow you to place another bet at the selection (case of partially matched bet/till bet reff is cleared)
and placing a bet with COM is better if
you just want to "place and leave" bet AND want to place another bet at the selection later on

Am I correct?

I don't use the COM but as long as the bet ref is clear with excel you can still place other bets. The mybets excel sheet can be used to keep track of any matched or unmatched bets. Guess all depends on how you've coded your sheet but I track positions from mybets, just remember that gets updated after the 16 column price refresh

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
