Latest version on Closed market

Postby Deestar » Fri Apr 14, 2023 9:08 am

Hi

I've noticed that the latest version is not automatically clearing a market when it is closed. In previous versions a closed market would look like "Closed Market 1" screenshot below, in the current version it is staying in the state in the "Closed Market 2" screenshot.

It is not a big difference but the latter seems to be draining more excel resource than the former so when I have a lot of sheets linked it is eating up CPU on closed markets.

Can you look into this?

Thanks

I should add that if you manually go to another market and then back to the closed market it will clear.
Thanks

This is how it has always looked. The second screenshot is when you open a market that is already closed before you open it. The first screenshot is how it looks when it transitions to closed before opening another market. I will investigate the CPU issue though.

Ok, sorry for some reason I always thought it went to the second.
I only really noticed it because I've finally switched to Office 365 on my server and the excel CPU usage is a little heavier, so trying to save where I can and it seemed to be using double under the first scenario compared to the second which seemed odd given the market is closed in both cases.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
