The 3 options are there for laying horses but not for backing..any chance of putting them in.....?

They are not applicable when backing. Your liability is your stake when backing and payout only applies to laying. Can you give examples of how you would expect these options to work when backing?

I think Fawltyrat is talking about backing a selection to win a specific amount or payout. Actually I'm often doing the calculation manually eg..I want to back 1-0, 2-0 to win the same amount whichever result comes in, that is the reverse of laying a specific payout. I would also use the function, especially if you could include it in Betdaq Assistant.

Isn't that dutching which Betting Assistant does support or is there a difference?

The problem arises when you don't get fully matched the first time and have to take a lower price on one or both of the selections. You then need to place a balancing bet ie. the difference between the two profits divided by the odds.

I do 20 to 30 single horse racing back bets a day, all to fixed profit and would find an ability to back to a fixed profit very useful.

At the moment, I either have to calculate the stake separately in a spreadsheet or by iteration in the staking box - for fast moving markets ( e.g in-running ) it is virtually impossible to do the iteration accurately.

If it is not possible to easily alter the staking mode function, how about modifying the dutching function (which already has a fixed profit option) to enable it to work with a single selection ?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
