LAY QUESTION excel trigger

Postby Dmite036 » Sun May 10, 2009 1:20 am

I have a lay trigger set up at the moment where if my criteria is met, i lay if under $7.80.

This means i will take whatever is in the lay column under that price, even if the back column is a mile away from the lay price. Worst case scenario is i lay at $7.60 when the back price was only $6 for example.

Is there a way to request somewhere in between?

At the moment i am led to believe you can only grab whatever is in the lay column.

Hi

Depends how specific you want to get. You could simply enter something like =SUM(Z5+0.4) into the odds cell (R5) and it will fire your bet in at 0.4 above the current back price. Or you could have it fire the bet in at a set % above the current back price. There is no saying these would get taken tho.
In the above suggestion you would need =SUM(Z5+0.4) in cell R5, =SUM(Z6+0.4) in cell R6 etc

I have ended up using

=SUM(F5+H5)/2

so in theory shooting of a lay request in between the current back and lay price. Might have to test it for a while but seems to be OK.

Thanks for that Ian.

However when i cut and pasted that code into the 'Visual Basic Editor' (hope thats right), and when i put in =plusTicks(H5,2) in the Odds column, all i get is #NAME?

not sure what i've missed.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
