v 1.1.0.63 :-

My bug from last post cleared - yet ........

Q2 = -7 FAIL

(1) Quick pick list was populated with todays races by preferences ( only todays races ) at BA start up.

(2) Using Q2 = -7 the quick pick list was not emptied of race list

Question : Is it because at (1) it is TODAYS races in the quick pick list ?

No, that's not the problem. -7 is not intended to clear the quick pick list. It is used for a clearing bet results (used when logging bet results is enabled). There isn't an actual trigger for emptying the quick pick list. There is however a trigger for removing the currently selected market from the quick pick list which is -8.

Hello Gary - thanks for yr reply, i understand.

Perhaps there is another way ? If i explain what i am trying to do !

The problem : Daily set up of BA and Excel for multiple BA tabs and Excel sheets is getting complicated, one must be started by 1130, another 1215 etc, and which tab has trigger betting enabled, and which tab has quickpick list auto select enabled and associated timing setting value

Cant be done in a rush ! Yet i always am rushing !

So solution : Run BA from a vps , and use Excel based triggers ( or some other means ) to let run day to day without idiot interfering daily !

What i was trying to do was get BA to roll to the next days list of racing - by (1) clear list ( assumed yesterdays races were in quickpick list), then (2) repopulate ( Q2= -3.5 ) with todays races, followed by (3) select first race ( Q2 = -5 )

What would happen if i had yesterdays race list in the quick pick list and fired in Q2 = -3.5 Would yesterdays race list still be present in the quick pick list ?

Thanks for info on Q2 = -8 . I wonder if could use that to delete all of the races ?

Something like after the days racing Q2= -5 to take me to the beginning of the list, then Q2 = -8 to delete it, then the second race of the day would now be at the top of the quickpick list - so Q2 = -5 again, followed by Q2 = -8 to delete. ( with ofcourse controls to monitor sucessful deletion - and a crosscheck against a list of all the races that had occurred through the day )

Then once i have cleared all of the quick picklist - say at 11pm - then at 0700 the next day fire in Q2 = -3.5 and Q2 = -5

It replaces the list so you don't need to worry about clearing it first. -3.5 and -5 should be all you need.

If want to check that the quick pick list was replaced then after using -5 you can check cell D2 is not prefixed with "-" as it should be in the future.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
