My first attempt and it was pathetic

Postby pe555 » Sat Jun 07, 2014 2:27 pm

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this and after reading the forum for a week, I thought that I would have a go at linking an Excel sheet.

Very simple system, when a horse odds go to 1.8 in win market then place a back bet in the place market at place market odds. Simple but it it went so wrong. Thank god only using minimum stakes.

I used ths formula =IF('Win Market'!F5<=1.8,"BACK-IP","") and this is what happened as soon as I linked to BA.

It placed a bet on the complete outsider @ odds of 36 but didn't place any bets at my trigger. Now I don't know much about Excel apart from the usual they taught at school but I felt confident after reading and watching the videos.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
