Bet Settlement times - Betfair

Postby StuT » Mon Dec 21, 2015 1:06 pm

Hi all,

Not a Gruss question specifically.

How long does it take Betfair to settle bets in UK horse race markets and also AUS Horse Racing markets?
What's the normal time frame?

I'm asking this because if I place bets on each market I may need to wait wait until bet settlement before moving on, a kind of cash flow situation.

Thanks again.

Usually very quick but obviously things like stewards, delays etc can all slow down settlement. Guess a lot depends on just how bad a race or two affects your strategy, never the best strategy to depend on a previous result if you're betting a race at a time.

You could aways log the race results if you want to see if the previous race has been settled before placing bets, just use the bet logging results sheet http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... esults.htm and monitor the sheet for RESULT_NOT_AVAILABLE or you can just simply check your balance in cell I2/J2 and see if there's enough of a balance to place your bets. Then either reduce your stake so you don't miss out or wait till it is enough to carry on or not.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
