I wanted to know about the lowest bet scenario because (i think I've interpreted it right!!) there is a feature on Bet Angel Pro that triggered a bet if the Odds dropped to a certain level. It worked on In-Play horse race and the Odds were triggered close to the end of the race.

Gary ... ever thought of setting-up a forum on your own website!!!

The matched odds are updated on the next refresh after the bet is triggered and then on every subsequent refresh so if the bet is partially matched this will show, but it will also update as the bet gets fully matched.

IanP. I didn't mean to give that impression. I am saying that the bets are placed immediately upon being identified it's just that they are only potentially identified on every refresh.

You can put keywords in the trigger column using formulae or a macro to place bets for you.

BACK places a back bet
LAY places a lay bet
CANCEL cancels the bet if not already matched
LAYFIELD lays the field (only needed in 1 row)
CLEAR clears the row ready to place another bet

For the bets placed, figures in the odds and stake (O & P) columns complete your request.

If I've missed any please correct me someone.

Thunderfoot. Yes I have thought of a forum. Can anyone suggest some free forum software if there is such a thing. It would need to be written in PHP.

Layit .. so the sequence on each refresh is to look for a trigger and then update the odds etc. rather than update the odds and then look for a trigger ?

IanP. The odds are updated at the same time as the bets are put into an array in memory. The array of bets are all then submitted as one bet. Ths whole process should take a fraction of a second. There is a slight issue with the way the cells in Excel are updated. It could be programmed more efficiently and I will be looking into this.

bet2xs. On my system it takes a fraction of a second and other people report no problems. I am trying to find a reason why it would be slower on some people's systems. I find it hard to believe it would take 30 seconds on anyone's computer.

Can everyone please indicate how long it takes to lay the field on their system (through lay field button or Excel). You must be using version 0.98q. It's starting to worry me a bit when I see claims that it takes 20/30 seconds.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
