Version 0.99h (API) released

Postby GaryRussell » Sat Dec 16, 2006 3:52 pm

The main purpose of this release is to enable the silks to be displayed which were disabled by the last Betfair site upgrade.

There are two new features which are still being developed, but you can try them out. Please note that these features do not yet work with less than minimum stake.

1) Tick offset. When this value is not zero then when your bet is matched an opposite back/lay will be immediately placed at the number of tick offsets you have set. eg. if the tick offset is 1 and you back at 2.94 then a lay at 2.92 will be placed when your back bet is matched. If your bet is part matched then the remainder will be cancelled and the opposite bet will be for the matched amount.

2) Fill or kill after ?? seconds. When this is ticked then your bet will be cancelled if not matched in the required amount of time. When set to 0 the bet will be cancelled immediately. If your bet is not fully cancelled then the program currently takes no further action so you will have to deal with this manually.

You can now update bets on the ladder interface by dragging the stake to the required odds.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
