Horse Races on TV

Postby mak » Fri Mar 04, 2011 1:30 pm

Can someone point out where i can find out, at which trucks there are particular "tv channels" with live pictures?

I just need to do some analysis, how my bots perform with particular live pictures

for example (because my English are still awful :oops: )

Kepm = SIS
Ling = Turf TV (?) etc..
Newc = ...

thanks in advance

Turf TV is probably the best but there are some people who can provide modified boxes that will allow faster access to other tracks. The best I have come across are in an exchange shop in Nicosia in Cyprus !! They also have superfast internet access with a ping time to Betfair shorter than most in the UK. Unbelievable but true. I know where I'd rather be in the winter !

Yes, they'll be the Cobain pix. Dont know which shops have them though.

Personally I don't hold out a lot of hope for exchange shops longterm. Once fast pix are readily available to us all (in the not too distant future) they won't have much of a point really, other than fast internet connections, which we'll all have access to soon.

Hi Doris

As it seems you are an in running trader you have a keen interest in as near instantaneous pictures as possible.
You say we will all be able to get fast pictures in the not too distant future.

Are you able to expand on that?

You have said Betfair do not appear interested in delivering faster pictures. Are you aware of a new service on the way?

Personally I never look at the pix as my algos are completely autonomous and if I started interfering with them cos of what I saw on TV, I'd completely screw things up I imagine. A very successful friend of mine bets/lays using fast pix and I help set him up but its only a supposition that faster pix are round the corner.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
