Betfair planned maintenance 8th Dec 2009

Postby GaryRussell » Mon Dec 07, 2009 6:18 am

Planned Site Maintenance (all products) – Tuesday, 8th December, 3am-11am GMT

Please be aware that a site maintenance (all products) has been planned for the above time.

However, this is dependent on the second Test between Australia and West Indies finishing by the end of the fourth day, on Monday 7th December. If a fifth day in the Test match is required, then we will delay the planned site outage on December 8th, so that our cricket customers can continue to trade the match to its conclusion.

The planned site outage will then occur on Thursday, December 10th, 3am-11am GMT

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Lets hope this one sorts out some of the issues the site has at the weekends when there is live football on.

Betfair didn't do their planned maintenance on Tuesday, instead they are doing it today.

Well, as you can see in the Betfair announcement above, the site is being upgraded until 11.00 am today....

Can anyone confirm if the current problems (prices and unmatched bets jumping all over the place) are Betfair? Or has the upgrade upset our BA?

It looks like the upgrade hasn't gone well. I am pretty certain I don't need to change anything in BA, they need to sort it their end. I am reporting it to the API team.

Cheers Gary. It seems to be calming down, they may have someone cranking a few bolts.

All seems ok here now. Perhaps they just left the oil filler cap off.

I think it was probably one of the API servers needing a kick start.

Looks like there are still problems. See http://bdp.betfair.com/index.php?option ... &Itemid=92

Proceed with caution.

Certainly is unuseable at the moment.

Well done Betfair!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
