One day Betfair will realise that they have the wrong technology and will be forced into making the proper changes. This piecemeal way of plugging leaks in their system is no way for a company like them to operate.

Sometimes, it is taking nearly 5 seconds to update prices.

There is certainly going to be some big "winners" and "losers" today if your are lucky!

I am glad I am not "In Play" specialist.

Betfair have reported that the "API" is now OK.

It is still "hanging" at times.

Well, they've now added a new ticket and are aware of the problems it has.

It would be nice to have a bit of feedback about how the API is performing today in-running.

For me its better than yesterday but still more volatile than it was before the recent upgrade. How are you finding it ?

I only "pre-race" trade.

It is a lot better than yesterday but, prices are still jumping about at times for me.

I only had jumping prices for a short while yesterday. What I'm more concerned with is the steadiness of the refresh. When I ask for 100ms I want to see it return around 100ms. Yesterday it was regularly freezing and returning 1200ms which is a real pain in the neck. But today the refresh is a little more static which is nice to see. That said, its certainly no better than before the upgrade and I suspect the acid test will be its behaviour this Saturday when footie is on.

Things aren't looking that good for tomorrow, what with Cheltenham on as well.

Take care !!!!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
