Betting Assistant New Version

Postby MarkRussell » Mon Oct 27, 2014 2:55 pm

Hi,

As you may be aware Betfair are retiring the current API which is now scheduled to be switched off on 10-Nov-2014.
The new API called API-NG is it's replacement.
You can see an overview of API-NG via the following link:-
https://api.developer.betfair.com/services/webapps/docs/display/1smk3cen4v3lu3yomq5qye0ni/API-NG+Overview

As result of this switch over it means that all users must upgrade to our new version (ver 1.3.0.0)

Please do this as soon as possible.

Firstly close Betting Assistant and uninstall via Windows Control Panel.
Then install using the following link:-
https://www.gruss1-software.co.uk/Betting_Assistant/Betting_Assistant.msi

All your saved settings should be kept in tact as they are not deleted as part of the uninstall.

Regards,
Mark & Gary

I installed this version as requested but was disappointed to find a problem in the first match I worked. The back bet offers were jumping all over the place and the last price matched values were flicking around with no cause. Also prior to kick off the money matched charts were incomplete. My other computers with the old version were working fine in both respects. I had to uninstall and revert to the previous version mid match.

Hello Gary,

Started looking at new version this morning. I had left it running for an hour or so and noticed the graph in attached image. I suppose something similar could occur if the last traded price jumped between 2.42 and 2.62, but there would be a gap between each tick in the graph.

Regards,

Hi. I have just downloaded this new version and I cant login. I can login to the BF Website, but using the same details I cannot do so via the new Version. If I use the previous version of BA (on another computer) I can login with my details. Please can you help or point me in the right direction. Thanks

This hasn't been the typical experience. I will investigate.

It does suggest some inconsistency in the API data. We have seen issues like this before when the API servers weren't in sync causing prices to jump all over the place. I will investigate and report to Betfair if necessary.

I seem to be unable to bet below the Betfair min on the new platform - apologies if this has been raised elsewhere.

Sadly it appears to be a known problem with the new API-NG. Last traded price and traded volume seem to fluctuate between two values making the data somewhat inconsistent. I understand that Betfair are investigating.

This must be a problem at Betfair's end but yesterday the old version had the premier league matches for this weekend. The new one didn't and doesn't even have them today.

Betfair are rolling out an update at 9.00 am tomorrow to address this issue. We shall monitor the situation.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
