you just fix something and brake something else and we don't have the option to roll back

Hi,

-1 in Q2 to go to the next market is working in version 21
There must be something else going on with your code.

18 is not available because it does not work properly.

Hi,

Version 1.3.0.22 is now the latest version as there was a bug relating to MyBets sheet when logging multiple markets from a single tab page.

We need to keep moving forward.
We were slated for not bringing out new releases in another part of the Forum and now we get slated for bringing out new versions.
If we are made aware of bugs then we will fix them as soon as possible.
Auto updates are necessary to to do essential updates.
If you are happy with 15d then you can stick with that but you will not get the new features going forward.
Just saying your code is ok does not help solve your problem.
We need to know exactly how you use the Excel feature to determine where the problem lies.
As I already said -1 is working so there must be something else going on.
If you want to email us with further details then you can do so to admin@gruss-software.co.uk
We can then try to replicate the error.

Mark

if this is your idea of going forward I can't say anything.
I don't have the time right now to solve the bugs of your software.
regarding the changes and the updates you SHOULD gives us changes log and keep the previous versions available
I can't even remember the last few years how many updates caused troubles and new bugs which then you fix them
regarding the conversation about not bringing something new it is correct
we are waiting for example for the green trigger at least 3 years now and still waiting...
even now if you tell us what change from .18 to .21 I am quite sure that is all about bug fixes

as to my problem I ll stay with .15d as it has no diff for what i need and it has the same bugs as .18
just wait few days and other users will tell you what is wrong with .21 and .22

So when we have a new feature that you want, you don't want it because you are stuck using an old version?
At what point should we release a new version then?
It is true the versions between 19 and 22 are bug fixes but what do you suggest that we leave the bugs in the software?
We don't want people using old versions that we know have bugs.
It's clear to me that we will not agree on this point.

since you are doing bug fixes you should keep the previous versions and not force the update
there is no problem with new stuff or bug fixes but you should know until now not to force for update
give the new versions time to check
i have spend 3 hours of my life just to setup an older version and trying to find what i already had this morning

the program had ,have, and will have bugs as all programs
I would prefer to agree that your way to force update is wrong but
It's clear to me also that we will not agree on this point.

The problem is when there is a bug that affects many users, it is much more efficient to force an update than spend many hours answering the same email.
I will speak with Gary to see if there is any other way to do it.

I have to agree that the older versions should ideally be available, that way people can decide for themselves if an upgrade is something that they want to do. For myself I have disabled the auto upgrade bit and am on version 18. The bugs it has do not impact me so I am happy with it. I will upgrade to version 23 or beyond when I think it is stable. As to the green-up option from excel it would really be a great benefit and something I would upgrade to in a flash. All that said your software is fantastic and much appreciated. - best regards Paul

Bug: when ammending a bet size, instead of getting one new bet, I get the new bet at correct size but another with the incremental amount (Please see screen shots).

Image BA1 shows horse 7. Dottore, part-matched leaving 1.66 to match at 21.00.

I then updated the size from 1.66 > 2

Image BA2 now shows two bets, one correct (2 @ 21) but also the extra bet of 0.34 @ 21.

It looks like a display bug. It is only creating an additional bet for the correct amount, but leaving £2 displayed where you entered it. If you hide "My Bets" and display it again it shows the correct stakes. I will fix it asap.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
