Betdaq Assistant and Excel

Postby Lemme » Sun Jan 04, 2009 7:36 pm

Is there support for triggered betting from Excel in Betdaq Assistant? If not - when will it be implemented?

We are working on it, but I cannot give you a release date at present. It will be at least another 3 months.

Betdaq Assistant and Excel

Postby cooldad » Wed May 06, 2009 12:52 pm

Gary, it´s not that I want to push you or anything, but is has been more than 3 months now, any idea when the Excel interface will be available for Betdaq assistant?

And if it is, will it be possible to log prices from (and trigger to) both Betting Assistant and Betdaq Assitant into 2 different worksheets of the same spreadsheet?

I am really looking forward to this. Thanks in advance.

It will be at least another 3 months. To be absolutely honest the mass exodus to Betdaq that was predicted because of the premium charges doesn't appear to have happened so it is not our top priority at the moment. When it is available there will be no technical reason why you cannot log to different worksheets in the same workbook.

Just a thought- maybe BD would be interested in funding some development work on this as I'm sure it would increase their IR liquidity. I would have thought it might be possible for some sort of deal to be done if you approach them. Bet Angel for Bet Daq is free so I imagine they may have made some sort of arangement.

The Betdaq application is suitable for placing bets in running, it just doesn't have an Excel link at the moment. I wouldn't have thought triggered betting would contribute to IR liquidity, maybe I'm wrong.

As mentioned by spike, BetAngel has a version for Betdaq, which is currently free. It has excel integration to use for trigger betting, but in my opinion, it is not as flexible/power as that of Betting Assistant. Also, you can not run multiple sheets for multiple markets, just one market at a time, so can't be fully automated ('set and go') to monitor races at preselected times.

Hi Gary,

Any news on this, I know you are very busy, but I would love to get my system on Betdaq too.

Cheers,

Oliver

We released a Beta version of Betting Assistant for Betdaq some time ago which is basically the equivalent of Bettng Assistant for Betfair version 1.1.0.62.

You are welcome to try it out. Install it using the link below. Development is slow because there just isn't enough interest and we do not make a penny from this.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
