Hi,

You can get Excel triggered betting or Conditional bets to fire in a bet once the odds reach a certain point but you cannot request odds that are lower than where the odds are currently being offered because of Betfair's Best Execution.

Please see http://en.learning.betfair.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2659/~/what-is-best-execution

You will simply get matched at the better odds.
You will need to wait until the odds reach where you want to bet at and then fire in the bet

Regards,
Mark

When you say you will simply get matched at the better odds this is what I would want as a lot of times using Excel triggered betting or Conditional bets I don’t get matched and this way I would get the best match available

Yes if you want a better chance of being matched then request lower odds.

So is it possible to request lower odds then the back odds knowing I stand a better chance of getting matched higher then the requested lower odds and probably lower then the back odds at that time? Could the software be programmed to do this?

Hi,

Have a look at the video in the following link which demos the basics of Excel triggered betting:-

http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6046

In the video you see me demo setting up a conditional bet, i.e. it is only fired in once the odds reach a certain range.
You could set something up similar to this so that your back bet is only triggered when the odds reach your desired point and whereas in the demo I was requesting current odds you can put whatever odds you want to request, i.e. lower odds.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
