Excel developer wanted for horse racing strategy

Postby xamax » Wed Jan 04, 2023 9:04 pm

Hello.

I am looking for a good Excel professional who could develop automation for my horse racing betting strategies.
Now I need my BACK-bets to be placed in play (in-running) only when the odds for the horse drops to the desired value.

For example, after the start of the race, the horse odds drops to 1.75. In this case Betting Assistant should immediately place a BACK-bet on this horse.

I will also interested in the permanent cooperation with the good developer as I will have other strategies to develop.

How do you determine the odds and which horse?

the reason I ask, is if it was any horse at a set odds value (1.75 from your example) then you could just use
=IF(AND($E$2="In Play",ISBLANK($G$2),$F5<1.75),"BACK","")

in the trigger column, this then looks to ensure the market is in play and is not suspended or closed. Then if the odds in the back odds 1 column are < 1.75 then it will trigger the back bet as long as the stake is already entered and you have linked the odds column to the back bet 1 column.

if you wanted to place more than one bet on a selection then this won't work.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
