Trade out Lay function code

Postby doris_day » Thu Jul 17, 2008 8:24 pm

Being a new user I've been pleasantly suprised how useful this forum has been in sorting out a couple of Excel issues I had. My triggered bets seem to be firing off as I need them to but I'm now looking to trade out at a fixed Lay price.
At the moment I've got a trigger set up that needs certain condition to be met and then a stake is bet at a given price. I'd then like any matched amount to be fired back into the market as a Lay at another given price. Only the matched amount.
If anyone can help me out with this or point me towards another thread which may have already answered this, I'd be very grateful. Failing that I'd happilly pay an Excel whizz to do the code for me.
Thanks

I wouldn't normally post in this section of the forum, but I received a private request for help and replied as follows.

Rather than explain that you would have to resort to a load of complicated macro programming I have updated the trigger processing to accept fixed prices. Just prefix the price with F for example BACK-TF1.1 to fire the offset bet at 1.1 and BACK-TLF1.1 to create a level profit.

This feature is included in the next version 1.1.0.21 which is not ready for official release yet, but you can download it from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... a_Test.msi to try it out.
You will first need to uninstall the current version

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
