Excel Help please.

Postby WhyLose » Wed Oct 22, 2008 4:58 pm

Betting Assistant is linked to Excel. BA automatically advances 1 minute before the off of each horse and dog race.

The question is, how do I automatically capture all the available data at zero seconds to the off in Excel?

What I'd really like is one sheet with all the data in. Currently I just copy and paste it on the races I have an interest in but it is a bit tiresome. Is there a way to capture and store all the data on all races as BA automatically advances?

Thanks guys, in anticipation.

It can be done (pretty much anything you can do manually in Excel can be done, and more besides!)

It should be a fairly simple bit of code - can't look at it now - will have to have a look this evening or tomorrow.

One thought - if you have it advancing one minute before the off, then the latest point you will be able to capture the data is 1 minute + 1 refresh interval before the off - let me know what you need, and I'll have a crack at it

2 ways to do it - either you let BA automatically advance, and set your capture code to go off a few seconds earlier - or you turn off auto-advance in BA, and then write code to do the capture and the advance yourself - any thoughts on which you prefer?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
