Multiple accounts on the same BA

Postby ricco » Sat Mar 06, 2010 3:03 pm

is it possible to develope a multiple account access to our software? I'd like to use 2 accounts at the same time. receiving the prices from both of them and placing bets with just one of them... the idea is to have more access and prices displayed quickly but not being charged for this.

Betfair finds out when 2 accounts are handled from the same IP address. If you are lucky your both accounts are linked and you pay data request charge. If you are unlucky you are banned because it's against their terms and conditions.

Hi ricco,

receiving the prices from both of them and placing bets with just one of them

Why not simply run two instances of BA and only use one to bet on?
You do not need two accounts for what you ask - just watch out for data
request charges which should be throttled to 20 or less in total.
(i.e. Use your one account twice - you would need to create a second profile).

hi,
but in that case I wouldn't display these infos on the same ladder. I thougt about the possibility to have a doubled amount of requests for prices displayed in the same ladder without having to pay for these requests, though I didn't consider this IP problem that milfor suggested...

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
