Average Price and stake columns help required

Postby doris_day » Sun Dec 05, 2010 11:32 am

I've requested that this function be added to the Custom Columns list but I doubt it will be done because I seem to be the only person that wants it.
It looks as though I'll need to have this coded within Excel.
Although I can do quite a bit in Excel, I dont think I have the VBA skills to do this and need some help which I'm quite happy to pay for if necessary.

I need 4 columns, starting from AB which access MyBets and give me for each runner the following info - (AB) Average Back Price; (AC) Total Back Stakes; (AD) Average Lay Price; (AE) Total Lay Stake

Any help would be appreciated

Is VBA required?
A lookup would do the job I think

What info is stored in the "MyBets"?

Now you mention it, I think you may be right. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll have a play but feel free to help out if you want :)

For example in AC5 the back stake (not total) will be:
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(A5,MyBets!A1:A50)),"",IF(LOOKUP(A5,MyBets!A1:A50,MyBets!D1:D50)="BACK",LOOKUP(A5,MyBets!A1:A50,MyBets!D1:D50),""))

and in AE the lay stake:
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(A5,MyBets!A1:A50)),"",IF(LOOKUP(A5,MyBets!A1:A50,MyBets!D1:D50)="LAY",LOOKUP(A5,MyBets!A1:A50,MyBets!D1:D50),""))

Can you adjust it further?

Thanks for the help. Its slightly more complicated than that because I need only those that have been Matched, so I'll need to add an IF/AND but its pointed me in the right direction, so I'll work on this today and see how I get on.

I've gone down a slightly different tack for the toal amount matched viz:

=SUM(IF((MyBets!$B$2:$B$400='BF XXX'!A5)*(MyBets!$E$2:$E$400="F")*(MyBets!F2:F400="L"),MyBets!$C$2:$C$400))

Seems to work if you enter this using Ctrl+Shift+Enter and not just Enter

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
