Drip feeding in excel

Postby reelthemin » Wed Apr 20, 2011 5:33 pm

Seems to me to be a pretty tough problem, but I am not too hot in excel.

Was thinking of trying to amend Gary's Place_bets sheet, chopping and changing here and there - what I would like to do is:

Have a "selections" sheet like the place_bets sheet where I can put horse, stake, bet type, min and max odds, and preferably number of slices for stake to be split into for the dripfeed, and time in seconds for how often to try and drip it into the market. As an example, let's say I wanted £10 on a horse but wanted to dripfeed it in 5 increments, i could specify that it would be 5, and also that i wanted them to be 30 seconds apart for example, starting at 3 mins to the off.

Also have a results sheet which records my results on a separate tab for the day.

I imagine it would be easier, if running say three strategies that require dripfeeding, to run 3 separate workbooks rather than get one master sheet which does everything.

If any developers could help me with this problem, or anyone has any tips (have tried for 2hrs but I can't get my head around it in VBA or via formulae) please let me know, with quotes sent via PM if you like.

Thanks

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
