Dutching variation

Postby oddjob » Wed Nov 09, 2011 1:45 pm

Hi all

I've been a Gruss user for years but not really played with the excel options very much.

I would like to set up a spreadsheet with options to dutch or hedge each horse, so I could for example dutch the 3rd and 4th favourites and hedge the 1st or 2nd favourite, thereby showing a profit if a dutched horse wins or at least breaking even if a hedged horse wins.

Does anyone have a sheet with these options in, or is someone able to write one please?

Many thanks

Peg

Did you know the Betting Assistant interface offers this option? When using the normal dutching facility you can click in the area to the right of the tick and the background changes to green to indicate that selection is hedged (ie. break even). Obviously this is only useful if betting manually.

This post fired up my curiosity and I found that when I simply ticked any
dogs to make a dutch bet it set off my bets matched sound notification
on into an endless loop - even though they had not been matched or placed?

Just a mention Gary - Michael

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
