Betting at bfsp

Postby rollem » Sun Jun 09, 2013 1:27 pm

I have a strategy for betting on the place market depending upon odds in win market and I place my bet about 10 seconds before the off time. I want to be able to bet at bfsp on the place market depending upon price of bfsp on win market and I want my bet to be as near as possible to the final bfsp price. By placing the bet at 10 seconds before the off it is surprising how it can vary from the official bfsp price - any ideas

BFSP is only known after the race has started, so I don't see how you can get around this, unless you're willing to make your place bets after the off.

You're probably aware that the two markets are independent and although they are correlated, formulas such as Harville can be quite inaccurate in calculating the place price from the win price. The best of those formulas is that of Henery and is much better than Harville.

The only way to do what you want is to bet in-play using the actual SP.

Best of luck.

rollem,

The estimated BSP bto and the actual BSP can widely diverge - particularly when chasing outsiders - even if you wait to a couple of seconds bto.

If you are betting below the 'limit' - I found I needed to add an extra 10 seconds (?) to complete the transaction - ie, to be sure EVERY time

Sorry with the negative answer - best of luck

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
